Kaiser Clinic

Kaiser Clinic Hours and Information

Clinic Hours: Tuesdays, 2:00 pm - 4:30 p.m, during the school year.

Location: Room E102 (near the main administration building)

Kaiser Permanente has joined with VCUSD to open its very first "Teen Clinic" at Jesse Bethel High School in February/March, 2007. The goal is to make a visit to a health care provider more accessible, right on the school grounds. This clinic provides health care for all Jesse Bethel Students, even if they are not enrolled in the Kaiser Permanente health care system. The services are always FREE Prescription costs vary. Parents will need to return a consent form for students to be seen for non-confidential visits (e.g. colds, asthma, rashes, etc.) but students can be seen for all confidential matters (e.g. pregnancy tests, birth control, testing for STDs, etc.) without parental consent.

The Kaiser Permanente - Bethel Health Center will initially be open on Tuesdays @ 2pm when school is in session. Parents will be responsible to complete and sign a consent form and medical history and return to the Administration office.

Some of the health issues might be: sore throat, cough, acne, minor injury, pregnancy prevention, concerns about weight, sexually transmitted disease screening, rashes, or depression.

The Health Center is set up to insure privacy, with 2 small exam rooms and a separate waiting area. Bethel students will be served on a drop in basis.

California confidentiality laws allow the health center to council students for issues related to pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases without parents consent or knowledge. Our focus will be on delay of first sex and abstinence.

Health education groups and classes will be set up over the next few months including issues of nutrition, violence prevention, depression, pregnancy prevention, making good choices in life, and tobacco cessation. We will post this information when we develop the schedule.
